ITG Consultant (Technology Integration)
Plans, researches and analyzes requirements on engagements of software implementation.
Plans, researches and analyzes requirements, carries out, and reports on engagements for which the desired results are generally predictable and processes, techniques, methods, and practices are available and fairly well understood. Requires 2-4 years application software implementation experience and expertise in applying technology to meet customer needs. Reports to Consulting Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, structures, and organizes work, applying Mercury Professional Services project and consulting methods and processes. Determines work priorities in accordance with project planning, time sensitivity, changing work demands, and policies and practices.
Tailors work processes, techniques, methods, and practices to meet project requirements.
Makes reasoned decisions after assessing customer's circumstances.
Identifies and investigates customer problems, issues, and circumstances and provides recommendations, alternatives, risks, and benefits.
Works effectively under limited supervision in rapidly changing environments.
Identifies and responds to customer questions, issues, and service opportunities.
Documents and reports on the use of new or enhanced ITG techniques, methods, processes, and practices.
Reports on work accomplishments and identifies implementation issues in a logical, clear, and thorough manner.
Reports to Project Manager and Consulting Manager on the status of work/projects, problem areas. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer satisfaction.
Works collaboratively and builds relationships with other consultants, customer staff, and third party consultants.
Essential Education, Skills and Environment
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, Accounting or business
- 2+ years application software implementation experience with Fortune 500 type clients
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- Application software implementation experience that includes package software implementations and key business processes.
- Strong oral presentation and written communications skill.
- Outstanding time management skills.
- Skilled in consulting.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, and able to adapt to change
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle customers effectively
- Change Management or Configuration Management Experience
- Comfortable in a fast changing environment
- Project Management Experience
- Workflow systems
- Knowledge of ERP implementations in a technical/process role
- Knowledge of one or more standard SCM products (PVCS, RCS, ClearCase, CCC/Harvest, Remedy)
- Help Desk systems e.g.: Remedy
- Prior implementation experience with an ERP Application (i.e. Oracle Applications _ patches, migrations, SAP _ABAP, BASIS, or PeopleSoft)
- E-commerce technical experience _ Java, Web site development, HTML, XML exposure
- UNIX, NT, SQL, PL/SQL knowledge a MUST
- Bourne, Korn, or C shell scripting a MUST
- Object Oriented Programming knowledge (preferably Java)
- Change Management or Configuration Management Consulting Experience
- Project Definition and Project Scoping Experience
- Prior Big 5 Consulting Experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
Plus:
- Experience with Project Management Software or Portfolio Management Software such as Niku, Primavera, Planview, Business Engine, Pacific Edge or Prosight.
