Principal Systems Engineer

Job Description: The candidate develops advanced technological ideas and guides the development of integration and test practice for Raytheon Missile System products. Tasks include providing the technical leadership for a multi-disciplined team performing the development of RMS products. Work is performed under consultative direction toward long range goals and assignments are often self-initiated. The candidate determines and pursues courses of action for Integration and Test to obtain the desired results. Typical Integration, Test and Analysis work includes:


n Laboratory Integration and Test

- Develop laboratory test techniques, facilities, and test systems

- Develop detailed test plans and procedures; including test systems software

- Lead and support H/W & S/W integration of all guidance section level and above systems, major subsystems, and weapon systems

- Conduct development, design verification, and acceptance tests

- Environments tests for engineering development programs & some production, including qualification stress screening

n Field Integration and Test

- Integrate our products onto weapon platforms and with other supplier products

- Lead the filed testing of systems

n Flight Test

- Conduct captive carry and free flight tests for all engineering development & research programs

- Conduct flight test operations with the customer. Conduct captive carry and free flight tests for engineering development & research programs

- Maintain Tucson hangar operations

n Data Reduction and Analysis

- Define instrumentation data requirements including telemetry data

- Develop data reduction S/W using standard S/W tools

- Acquire and analyze test data to validate test objectives and isolate problems


Required Skills: The candidate should be able to apply advanced technical principles in the integration and test process and practice, and develop new process. Ability to wrok on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Secret Security clearance required.


Desired Skills: Possess the ability to serve as an organizational spokesperson on advanced projects and act as an advisor to management and customers on integration and test concepts and practices.


Experience: 8 years of technical experience in Integration and Test Engineering.



Required Education: BS in Engineering field (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems). A MS in Engineering is optional and may reduce the years of technical experience required.
