POSITION SUMMARY:
Investigates and resolves external theft. Leverages investigative experience in conjunction with a concentrated focus on active store locations to impact theft trends (i.e., shoplifting, fraud, etc.) and reduce shortage through an effective apprehension strategy. Documents incidents and completes case reports. Key communicator of external theft trends to LP Management and the Special Investigations Unit. Identifies internal theft leads and assists with investigations as directed by the LPS (Stores), Area LP Manager and District LP Manager. Communicates Loss Prevention strategies at store meetings, executes all Loss Prevention functions as directed, and assists in providing a safe environment for associates and customers.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:






Detect & resolve external theft



Identify and assist with internal cases as directed



Writes investigative notes, maintains and controls documentation and evidence



Communicates basic LP strategies to store associates



Physical ability to make apprehensions using reasonable force if necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



Community College/some college preferred.



Previous retail Loss Prevention experience preferred.



Excellent written and verbal communication skills



Thorough knowledge of investigative techniques.



Ability to apprehend or restrain others



Good interpersonal skills



Strong interviewing skills



Able to work with highly confidential information



Able to travel to multiple store locations within a market according to business needs



Able to confront customers or associates in a calm, professional, and diplomatic manner



Able to access and move around all areas of the store quickly
