Job Description
Responsibilities: The Contracts Administrator will be primarily responsible for the maintenance of the contracts database (Nextance), keeping all contract related files up to date, maintaining a tracking system of in-process agreements, coordinating across functional groups within the organization, such as Business Development, Clinical and Finance on the status of those contracts. More specifically, the Legal Administrator's responsibilities will include coordinating and tracking contracts throughout the lifecycle from request, drafting, approval and execution through termination, including coordinating with contract managers in other departments, as well as the Finance Department regarding reporting on the status of those contracts. Coordinate contract workflow and assignments from request through execution of final contract. Interface and coordinate with relevant internal functions such as Legal, Finance, Research and Marketing to track contracts from request through execution of final contract. Assist in development and implementation of contract administration processes and policies and implementation and maintenance of contract management database. Participate in the development of contract related event reports. Working under the direction of the Senior Corporate Paralegal, the Legal Administrator would report into the Senior Counsel, Licensing within PDL BioPharma's Legal Department.




Required Skills
Skills/Experience: Ability to communicate directly with internal functional departments and external parties and their legal/contracts representatives to exchange information related to contract status, process, drafting and execution. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Demonstrated understanding of contract language and interpretation within corporate guidelines. Understanding of basic accounting principles, such as basic revenue recognition. Strong organizational skills and ability to take direction and perform according to set priorities and manage time effectively. Flexibility within a team environment is essential. Experience using Nextance or other contract management application a plus. 2-5 years of experience working in a in-house legal environment as a contracts/legal administrator is a plus.
