CORPORATE PATENT ATTORNEY, Intellectual Property

If you are a Patent Attorney with experience drafting, preparing and prosecuting U.S. domestic and International patents in information systems or computer software AND, You are looking for the next step in your career, read on.

A growing technology company in the Washington D.C. area is looking for an experienced Patent Attorney with patent drafting and patent prosecution experience that would like to lead their patent department.

Foreign patent experience is a plus. The ideal candidate that will join our team has a strong business background; an interest in technology and enjoys working in an International environment.

What you will be doing:
- Patent the company's products, services and ideas both here in the U.S. and Internationally
- Evaluate competitive products and services; analyze the competition and offer guidance as to new areas of revenue generation
- Utilize your interest in technology to assist in patent preparation; manage patent prosecution and litigation cases
- Analyze areas of risk; mitigate threats to the overall business; work with key corporate officers to lead competitive business models
- Use data mining and patent software tools to analyze patents and trademarks


Requirements:
- - 5 + years experience as a Patent Attorney registered with the United States Patent Office preferably in a corporate and / or software company
- - Patent drafting, patent prosecution and competitive analysis experience in a major company / organization preferably international in nature
- - Strong business background in addition to experience managing a patent prosecution department
- - Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Access, Patent search tools
- - MBA a plus!
