Ethics And Compliance Officer
Primary Responsibilities :
Summary:
Intuit is looking for an outstanding Ethics and Compliance Officer to join the Intuit leadership team to manage its world-class ethics and compliance program. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer/Deputy General Counsel, this leader will develop and manage Intuit's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, a company-wide program to identify, assess and manage risks to the company's strategy, operations, financial condition, and reputation. This leader will develop and implement the process for risk identification and assessment and will set in place and monitor the management controls that will minimize the impact of the identified and prioritized risks. This person will create strong partnerships across Business Units and Functional Groups to drive compliance accountability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Building upon Intuit's effective compliance controls, the Ethics and Compliance Officer will establish, oversee and lead the ERM compliance program. The position is responsible for promoting and enhancing an enterprise-wide ethical and compliance culture by:
• Developing and encouraging senior management "tone at the top" communications
• Establishing policies, standards and processes to prevent illegal, unethical and improper conduct
• Ensuring that these policies, standards and processes are communicated and institutionalized throughout the company
• Providing ethics and compliance training for directors, management and employees
• Training the businesses and functions to be able to consistently and effectively identify/assess/prioritize risks
• Working with Intuit's leaders to develop action plans/corrective actions/process improvements to mitigate risk
• Testing, auditing, and monitoring these plans.
The Ethics and Compliance Officer, interfacing with and advising the Ethics and Risk Management Committee, will establish the ERM program through collaboration with a broad range of functional and business unit executives. The Officer will work in close partnership with the teams focused on Compliance Investigations, Intuit-wide and on Training, Culture and Communications initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
In addition, the Ethics and Compliance Officer will:
• Manage the day-to-day implementation of Intuit's ERM.
• Review existing compliance policies, procedures and other controls to identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk of illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
• Develop, initiate, maintain, and monitor policies, procedures and processes designed to avoid or minimize the risks identified.
• Evaluate, interpret, and lead review and update of company code of conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
• Design and implement education and training programs for Intuit, including specialized training for those functions or responsibilities that involve compliance with global laws around standards of conduct, including SOX, FCPA, etc.
• Ensure compliance efforts are documented, monitored, and audited to track efficacy.
• Communicate to Intuit the importance of being in compliance and develop plans to achieve compliance.
• Establish and maintain system and process for consistent, measurable response to alleged violations or rules, regulations and policies, including anonymous reporting mechanisms.
• Manage operation of a confidential disclosure process (e.g., ethics hotline) for employees to report and seek guidance regarding potential or actual violations of law or company policy without fear of retaliation.
• Recommend corrective action plans in response to prioritized risks/violations and work with leaders to implement.
• Ensure proper reporting on all compliance program-related investigations, violation issues, resolution, and corrective action to relevant executive, Audit and/or Ethics and Risk Management Committees.
• Keep executives and relevant committees informed and aware of evolving regulatory and governance issues and trends, including best practices outside Intuit.
• Ensure vendors, contractors, agents and third parties are aware of compliance program with respect to contracts, billing practices, ethical behavior and so on.
• Monitor and identify applicable changes in regulations, laws or other standards and trends relevant to the ethics and compliance program, and make necessary modifications.
• Monitor the effectiveness and performance of the ethics and compliance program on a continuing basis including periodic assessments, audits or other appropriate evaluations.
• Respond to, or assist in response to, government inquiries or investigations, as appropriate.
• Actively participate in industry groups, professional organizations and informal networking groups that enhance the ethics and compliance program.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications:
• BA/BS with JD strongly preferred; preferably licensed to practice law in California
• 10 or more years' related legal or risk assessment experience
• Experience in leading and developing compliance programs, conducting audits and risk assessments
• Ability to synthesize, understand and communicate complex business issues and implications from a variety of perspectives (customers, employees and shareholders)
• Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Experience with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resources procedures and regulations
• Experience in driving and executing complex programs across a large enterprise
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, i.e. uses logical and creative thinking to effectively solve problems
• Experience in process management or analysis, organizational analysis, operational improvement and risk management
• Experience performing quantitative and qualitative analyses to drive business decision-making
• Effective in engaging and obtaining support from senior management and top executives
• Highly motivated and self-directive
• High ethical standards and integrity, and skilled at maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
• Sound understanding of business policies, practices, and the impact of change on both

• Familiarity with specific legal and compliance regulations to which the company is subject
