Information Governance Program Director

Description:

Essential Functions:

· Overall responsibility for management of Information Governance (Information Security/Risk Management) program

· Lead cross functional team on world-wide basis for the implementation of program to protect the critical assets of reputation of the company and showcase thought leadership in data management

· Lead business process re-engineering efforts required to implement program and balance the need for increased controls while retaining company culture of collaboration

· Responsible for day-to-day management of all project related issues, including risks, conflicts, priorities, communications, and ensuring delivery of the new program

· Manage cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget while meeting business objectives

· Interacts with senior management, executives and major customers about long-term and shorter-term strategic matters as well as tactical matters, controversial situations, customer negotiations and influencing/persuading other senior level managers.

· Work with management on a global basis to understand their business requirements for the program

· Represent and resolve conflicting business needs to deliver program and escalate issues that cannot be resolved to Information Governance Board for resolution

· Manages Project Budget

· Responsible for quality assurance and overall integrity of the project

· Manage cross functional team that does not report directly to this position and able to influence team to achieve overall goals of the program

· Communicates clear roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to the project teams.

· Manages risks of the project to successful outcome

· Manage all the administrative tasks (minutes, action items, decisions, meeting materials) associated with Information Governance Board to ensure meetings are well planned and achieve desired results



This project manager is expected through strong leadership to:

· Provide the overall vision and direction of their project

· Demonstrate accountability. Make no excuses and see him or herself as 100% responsible for meeting business expectations from program

· Know how our business works, being knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, and trends.

· Coordinate global and region specific resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish our goals.

· Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect. Use diplomacy and tact to manage customer expectations and, when called upon, to diffuse high-tension situations comfortably.

· Nurture the creative ideas of others while displaying good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work in the context of the business objectives and IT strategy.



· Requirements:

· Must have 3-5 years of large complex systems implementation experience

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and on projects of a diverse scope and capable of in-depth evaluation and analysis.

· Ability to analyze complex problems across the entire organization and to develop and “market” solutions.

· Must have superior written and verbal communication skills.

· Must have experience working in large ( over $500M with preference for $1B plus) high tech companies is an absolute must

· Extensive experience in implementation of world-wide programs in rapidly growing company

· Cross functional experience encompassing one or more business functions

· Strong international experience and ability to address local requirements while conforming to overall corporate standards

· Ability to influence staff not directly under their supervision

· Experience of industry recognized project management methodologies is a big plus

· Excellent knowledge of risk management and risk analysis is crucial

· Service orientated to many organizations affected by changes with implementation of new program

· Must have strong project leadership, problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities.

· The ability to maintain a high-level of discretion and confidentiality

Education:



· BS in Computer Science, Business, or related technical field; MBA preferred

· 10-15 years of systems or consulting experience in project management and analysis, with a good working knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques.
