Job Summary
Landsend.com seks to hire the most talented, proactive,innovative and experienced Creative Director to join our landsend.com team. In this role you will raise the bar on our creative product while invigorating our design and usability teams. This ia a hands-on design position reporting directly to senior management.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
The Creative Director will have significant oversight and provide key contributions to the conceptual, visual and functional execution of the landsend.com site. They will also be expected to provide innovative, user-centered, information and visual design recommendations that contribute to an enhanced user experience for the million's of users.
Responsibilities include:
*Managing a team of senior web designers, usability designers and production designers; providing direction, critique and QA over all work.
*Developing and driving content creation for all of landsend.com sites
*Bridging the gap between design and development to create visually appealing and technically proficient dynamic sites
*Integrate with all of the business channels at Lands' End to create strong multi-channel campaigns and an integrated brand approach to all marketing.
*Conceptualize fresh, "next generation" ideas, refine and deliver innovative design solutions that respond to user needs, product innovation and technology and product requirements
*Work collaboratively with Merchandising, eMarketing and Information Systems teams to develop product UI design requirements and scope
*Mentor and manage design team; providing feedback and input that assists in delivering most effective design solutions
*Develop task and information architecture models that inform project objectives
*Work with external agencies and vendors, as may be necessary, to deliver optimum design solutions. This will include budget and creative management (based on synthesized internal team input)

Technical Skills:
*Exceptionally strong web and traditional design skills
*Strong working knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript
*Knowledge of middleware languages (PHP, ASP.net) to be able to implement dynamically-driven sites
*Photoshop and Illustrator expertise
*Strong knowledge of typography
*Any scripting experience a bonus (e.g., php)
Professional Skills:
*Significant management and/or supervisory experience
*Strong visual, interactive and information design skills in an online and print environment. Extensive retail industry experience required (apparel preferred).
*Creative direction
*Thrive in a team-oriented environment
*Strong verbal and clear & concise writing skills
*Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
Attributes/Behaviors:
*Keen ability to translate audience, technology and other key product requirements into effective UI design solutions
*Experience in working in under tight deadline while maintaining high product relevance and quality.
