Job Summary
The human resources/office support lead supports store operations by coordinating the human resources and office tasks for the store. This hourly position is responsible for compliance to HR policies and practices as well as federal, state and local laws and regulations governing employment.
This position supports store operations through appropriate staffing, retention, training compliance, payroll processing, legal and policy compliance, and associate relations. This position oversees and supports office functions throughout the store.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local employment laws to insure awareness and compliance throughout the store
_ Administers human resources policies and procedures for compliance throughout the store
_ Manages recruitment for hourly positions in the store. This includes awareness of store hiring needs by position, networking for community-based sourcing, affirmative-action planning to build a diverse store team, partnering with resources to identify qualified candidates
_ Maintains associate records through timely and accurate on-boarding, record updates, and employment terminations
_ Participates in associate selection process through the use of the eRecruiting tool, assessments and interviews
_ Performs new hire orientation to acclimate all new hires to Sears
_ Partners with 88Sears HR consultants to resolve policy, compliance and associate issues in a timely, appropriate, and consistent manner
_ Responds to associate inquiries on policy, benefits and compensation
_ Understands data collection and analysis to help trend and plan based on store turnover statistics
_ Facilitates associate training through the eLearning tool. Proactively monitors achievement of timely training and assists store management in any needed follow up. Conducts training on new policies, procedures and initiatives when necessary
_ Coordinates hourly performance review process
_ Maintains confidentiality
_ Understands and utilizes Sears' systems to include, but not limited to, eRecruiting, eLearning, PeopleSoft, SSG, reporting systems, and other HRIS systems
_ Understands and maintains accuracy of data and cash counts
_ Demonstrates flexibility to work in multiple areas as required by work flow and initiatives
_ Demonstrates flexibility to work varied hours to support associates and the needs of the store
