Responsibilities
The Clinical Research Division seeks a highly organized and accurate communicator who will work independently to perform research-related administrative duties for multiple investigators. The Coordinator prepares grant and other funding applications, budget requests and budget justifications. The Coordinator ensures that materials are compiled and submitted in accordance with grant/contract guidelines and that deadlines are met. The Coordinator tracks expenditures, payroll, prepares budget projections and keeps faculty informed of the status of their budgets and projections on a monthly basis.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of related experience in a fast-paced academic/research office or research environment. • Strong computer/word processing, math, and oral and written communication skills are required. • Must be proficient with Word and Excel for Windows, able to work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality. • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, organize, and work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Must be detail-oriented. • Knowledge of NIH grant application procedures, budget monitoring, Access database, and medical terminology is helpful.

Major Duties
• Coordinates protocols with Institutional Review Office and assists in the development and implementation of project/study policies and procedures. • Purchases laboratory supplies, or works closely with technician in lab who is responsible for purchasing, so the expenditures can be tracked on a timely basis. • Purchases basic office supplies. • Prepares schedules, travel and seminar arrangements for invited seminar speakers; schedules faculty meetings, processes travel expenditures and honorarium payments. • Organizes workshops, conferences and scientific meetings. • Formats and coordinates scientific manuscript preparation with co-authors; arranges for submission to journals for publication. • Administer general office procedures and other duties as necessary. • The successful candidate will be a highly organized and accurate communicator who can work independently to perform research-related administrative duties at multiple sites.
