Job Description:
The MicroStrategy Project Manager contributes to technical account management and communications as well as customer satisfaction and implementation success. The Project Manager Role is a lead consultant role which provides the employee with responsibility for successful delivery in specific customer engagements. The Project Manager is responsible for timely deliverables, project staffing, and overall satisfaction of the customer. In this role, the Project Manager must become intimate with all concerns that the customer faces with regards to the overall success of the MicroStrategy implementation. The Project Manager must understand software implementation best practices as well as be extremely knowledgeable about the MicroStrategy technology and architecture.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
- Manage complex implementation, integration, enhancement, or audit projects: define production consulting scope, proposals, service engagements, and demand creation;
- Manage and mentor Productions Consultants assigned to a project;
- Work as part of a team with Sales, Sales Consultants, and Director of Professional Services
- Meet services revenue targets; and,
- May also serve as a senior-level billable consultant when needed.
Qualifications:
- Education, if applicable: At least a bachelor's or equivalent degree in a business, technical or related field is preferred.
Experience, if applicable: 5 years Consulting or Management Experience.
Understanding of core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technology: RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and Teradata, Web, Client/ Server, and OLAP
Technical expertise in all areas of MicroStrategy functionality, as well as subject matter expertise in areas such as Databases, SDK, Architecture, Security, and BI Planning.
Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience (SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++); Web/Internet experience (JAVA, HTML, ASP, XML, XSL, JavaScript)
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and business requirements
Application knowledge of the following industries: Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Telecommunications, Banking & Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare and ERP
Timely delivery of all project related deliverables
Ability to position additional products and services into existing accounts
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Experience with implementation methodologies
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels of the business and effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language
Ability to mentor and lead a team of consultants
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Proven customer satisfaction abilities
Work Environment:
This job requires travel up to 90% on a regular basis.
