Job Details
The Technical Solution architect works as a Server Consolidation Engineer. The TSA develops and leads the optimization of hardware platforms and software systems for large-scale enterprise projects. The Engineer will be required to analyze existing server configurations (memory, processors, primary function), develop hardware configuration and architecture recommendations based on a cost of ownership model that is appropriate for each client. This will include the analysis and documentation of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and in-house application performance characteristics, inter-process communications, messaging, middleware and collaborative software on various hardware platforms. This position will require expert knowledge in hardware/software consolidation as well as being able to develop design/implementation solutions. Experience as a Technical Solution Architect and at least 8 years experience in design, installation, operations and management of pSeries or eSeries or one or more of: Sun Solaris,HP-UNIX,MVS/VM,Tru64 UNIX. AIX experience is required. BS/BA degree is highly desired, relevant experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Since most of our work is performed at client sites, this position requires up to 100% travel.
