Assistant Vice President, Countrywide Warehouse Lending Operations
Countrywide Warehouse Lending (CWL) meets the interim financing needs of mortgage bankers who are usually customers of Countrywide s Correspondent Lending Division (CLD) and Countrywide Securities Corporation (CSC). The subsidiary is also driven to bring new CWL customers and influence them to become customers of Countrywide Home Loans (CHL). The operations area is responsible for all loan level transactions including verification of loan level information, counter party verification and daily accounting and control of cash balances.
The Assistant Vice President will manage operations of Countrywide Warehouse Lending while protecting CWL and CHL's interests. Actively facilitate and participate in the growth of the business through the innovation and implementation of new ideas and programs that reduce risk and/or create operational efficiencies.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the planning, organizing and development of systems.
- Controls the workflow for operational and internal control systems that will be funding millions of dollars in loans daily.
- Signs off on fundings and exceptions in amounts up to $1 Million.
- Grants exceptions to policies on an intra day and sometimes overnight basis.
- Coordinating various funding and closing teams to cover three time zones and a nationwide client base.
- Monitor day-to-day operations and implement system to enhance the procedures and monitor the productivity of the personnel within the entire warehouse lending subsidiary, including operations, controls and customer service.
- Manage staff and monitor their level of performance, maintain direct responsibility for funding and closing teams.
- Communicate with VP of CWL as necessary regarding production levels, issues or procedure revisions required, as well as keeping him/her abreast of CWL's progress in achieving its goals and operational changes that may effect customers.
- Maintain ongoing seller relationships through and with Production.
- Answer technical questions for sellers and direct reports by management, production.
- Implement all guidelines, procedures and work flow for the division.
- Issue and maintain internal and external documentation of CWL policies and procedures.
- Communicate with senior management of CWL as necessary regarding production levels, issues or procedure revisions.
- Work with MIS to ensure that the system keeps pace with the business growth (both from a functionality and flexibility perspective).
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
A successful candidate will have:
BA in Business or equivalent.
Strong management and organizational skills.
5 or more year s managerial experience, preferably in Warehouse Lending.
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor with the ability to interface with all levels of management and personnel.
PC literacy.
An ideal candidate may also possess:
Shipping and Secondary Marketing knowledge experience.
