Job Description: Overall responsibility and accountability for oversite of Mission Assurance at Missile Systems. Acts independently, restricted only by very broad policies and objectives, to assure of mission assurance, reliability, safety, and quality of MDA programs. Responsible to direct and establish through appropriate processes the pedigree of launch ready systems, launch readiness disciplines, and the management of quality issues. Continuous review of quality and reliability philosophies and conventions, applications, and procedures to ensure the highest product standards. Coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and failure analysis activities. Makes final decisions on administrative and operational issues for the department. Participates with other top level management in developing objectives and business policies. Responsible for the results and effectiveness of a function considered to be of critical importance to long-term business sucess. Accountable for setting and achieving financial targets.
Required Skills: Demonstrated leadership in a multi-billion dollar defense-related organization. Outstanding background in the implementation and management of Mission Assurance Precepts and requirements as well as contractual and other government regulatory requirements. Proven success in the management of MDA-related programs or systems; launch readiness processes and disciplines. Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methodologies and tools to business and operational disciplines. Superior ability to effectively communication at all business unit, corporate, partnership, and customer levels.
Desired Skills: Strong background and understanding of "cradle to grave" disciplines. Highly experienced and successful in devising and implementing change strategies. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Masters degree preferred.
Required Education(including Major): B.S. - Engineering; Aerospace Engineering; Quality Engineering; Industrial Engineering.
