Job Summary

The Director of Operations supports the Vice President, Operations, ABDs West in driving Unit performance, including sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, associate morale and operational process compliance. The Director of Operations is responsible for driving the overall financial performance of the Unit supporting the VP/GM. This includes merchandise sales, miscellaneous revenue and expense management, resulting in the achievement of profitability goals. .

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Customer:
Directs Units and Branches in achieving process disciplines in support of the customer.
Acts as customer and associate advocate, while maintaining balance between customer and company needs. Determines appropriate outcomes to customer issues and concerns by making sound business decisions.
Assists VP/GM in representing ABD to all Sears partners within the local market/community
Ensures the Unit operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies
People: (Associates):
Supports Unit and Branches in developing a high performance team by attracting, selecting and effectively developing and deploying the salaried management talent within the business.
Supports the VP/GM on general management and overall merchandise and operation standards.
Coaches team on communication of upcoming company initiatives.
Plans and manages change initiatives in the business.
Serves as an advocate for Store Support and the Field by considering how change initiatives impact both the store associates and the company
Ensures the business operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations

Profit:
Accountable for supporting the VP/GM in directing the business to drive the ABD's profit performance to plan, including sales and miscellaneous revenue growth; optimizing credit performance, enhancing margin and effectively managing inventory and expenses (driving success with every metric in every Branch)
Takes ownership for planning/managing the execution of full implementation of corporate programs and initiates on cost management and productivity
Identifies opportunities and solutions to increase the business' financial performance, including a relentless focus on process consistency and execution (receiving, warehouse organization/process adherence, replenishment, office functions). Where appropriate, supports the VP/GM and Branch Managers to prioritize ABD execution and process initiatives.
Ensures adherence to all applicable laws and company policies.
