Qualifications:
Proficiency in system level repair of multiple products or an extremely complex product within a family is required. Advanced electronics skills desired. Ability to troubleshoot problems in software, electronic, mechanical, optical, and laser systems required. Strong knowledge of optics and lasers, computer theory, networking and applicable operating system knowledge required. Strong mechanical and analytical skills required. Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and must be able to maintain good working relationships with customers and KLA-Tencor team members. Ability to work under pressure and stringent timelines since failure of company equipment may shut down customer manufacturing area. CSE must successfully complete ongoing technical training, to acquire a thorough knowledge of assigned equipment, the application of diagnostic techniques and practical application of service aids.
BSEE or BSEET degree or equivalent work experience in supporting complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry is required. Must obtain and maintain KLA-Tencor certification level 3 (re-certification every 18 months). 3-5 years of field service, equipment related experience or semiconductor related equipment experience is preferred.
Ability to travel to international sites required. Candidate should be willing to work shifts other than day shift if required to support 7x24 or 7x10 contracts. Ability to pass drug test and background check by KLA-Tencor and customer are required.
Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for customer service activities associated with installing, qualifying, maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of highly complex equipment at customer sites. Candidate should be able to operate independently with minimal supervision.
Equipment will include one or more of the following types: ASET-F5x, RS100 and/or possibly others.
Candidate represents the company to the customer and is responsible for maintaining and improving customer satisfaction. Additional duties include but are not limited to:
Assure operational quality of equipment,
Coordinate actions with customers to minimize system down time,
Evaluating, analyzing, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical equipment problems via telephone and/or at customer site,
Ensures equipment enhances customer production,
Installs, repairs, maintains and upgrades equipment at customer facility,
Evaluates equipment to determine type and extent of problem,
Prepares reports, both internal and external, on customer support activity and provides documentation to engineering, marketing and sales on re-occurring problems,
Makes recommendations for improvements,
Travels by car or airplane to customer facility.
