Maintenance Mechanic, 2nd Shift, Pell City

Job Description Responsible for quality maintenance performance, repairs to machinery and process equipment; new technology installations; trouble-shooting equipment and process problems, and upgrades/improvements to the same. Follows all safety guidelines and rules; environmental and regulatory guidelines; uses all required safety equipment. Maintains quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment. Trouble-shooting process machinery/equipment integrity, and upgrade/repairs where applicable, as efficiently and economically practical as possible. Coordinates, oversees and participates in facilities preventative maintenance program; including, but not limited to, process machinery/equipment lubrication, adjustments, cleaning and operating diagnosis. May order and purchase replacement parts which include identifying supplier source; communication and follow up meeting with suppliers, in accordance with corporate purchasing guidelines for cost effective procurement. Use of electronic information systems for proper parts and components inventory control. Co-ordinates with outside contractors and supplemental support whenever necessary, including repairs, installations, security, fire prevention, loss control, etc. Proper record keeping of all maintenance, security systems/controls, fire prevention systems/controls, etc. May use electronic information system for tracking. Attends and participates in meetings and training programs, including but not limited to safety systems, fire prevention systems/controls; and other related educational programs as required. Maintains proper facility, and assets integrity, including but not limited to, structural; HVAC; lighting; electrical; pluming; boiler operation; repairs and improvements.
