Manufacturing Technical Manager
Responsible for problem identification, corrective actions, data review and analysis, and new product transfers for one or more Integrated product Teams (IPTs). Provide on time delivery of products by resolving process / product related issues. Manage / supervise scientific staff for the assigned manufacturing team. Assist IPT leader in maintaining the company's GMP status through development, review, implementation, and monitoring of production procedures and processes. Organize, lead and evaluate the work of all direct reportees. MTM will be the technical leader for the assigned IPTs and will be the primary technical expert for the products in Manufacturing. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY: • 60 % - Provide on time delivery of products by supporting manufacturing team to resolve process / product related issues using tools such as Temporary Deviations, rework procedures, NCR etc. Track process capabilities using appropriate data collection and statistical analysis methods. Responsible for timely completion of all Quality investigations and documentation. Work with raw material suppliers to investigate and implement appropriate changes to improve process capability. Summarize product performance and make recommendations to senior management • 30 % - Represent Manufacturing on New Product Core teams. Ensure proactive transfer of manufacturing related issues to Development so that they get implemented in the product design. Responsible for all new product transfer related activities such as process validation, pFMEA etc. • 10 % - Manage scientific staff assigned to the IPT including: interviewing and hiring staff, providing performance feedback and reviews, counseling, developing and rewarding. Other Functions: Review, sign-off and training of staff on new documentation. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, trending and summarizing information; summarizing and updating departmental progress in weekly report. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars (internal and external); reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; visiting other manufacturing facilities; participating in professional societies; attending industry conventions, seminars and workshops. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Life Science and 10 years related experience or Master's / Ph. D. and 3 years related experience. MBA an asset, but not a requirement; Knowledge of GMP/QSR/ISO; Well-developed managerial skills including budgeting, planning and scheduling. Computer literacy in database, spreadsheet, project management, and word processing software.
