PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN (PCT) (26104)

REQUIREMENTS

The Patient Care Technician performs patient related care tasks (direct care, EKG, phlebotomy). Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides direct patient care under supervision of Nurse. Obtains and records patient vital signs. Monitors and records daily intake and output. Obtains specimens, including non-invasive body fluids and blood specimens. Performs EKG's and blood glucose monitoring. Monitors and performs actions to decrease patient length of stay including but not limited to: use of computerized Bed Tracking System, performing timely designated discharge duties, and communicating discharge information to appropriate staff.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational Requirements: · HS/GED preferred. Complete PCT course within 12 months of hire from educational institution.
Experience Requirements: · Six months C. N. A. acute care experience preferred.

License/Registration/Certification:·BLS certification.
C.N.A. course completion and current registration/license required
