PURCHASING Manager / Sourcing / Procurement

Our client is a thriving international, mid-sized multi-plant manufacturer of heat transfer products to the industry, serving a wide range of customers in diverse markets from on/off highway vehicles, stationary industrial equipment, compressors and process equipment. Currently they are seeking a Purchasing Manager for their facility in Montgomery, Alabama. This role currently has one direct report and requires some domestic and possible international travel.








Reporting to the Director of Materials and Logistics, this individual will coordinate activities in purchasing and distribution of raw materials, equipment, machinery, and industrial and plant supplies. Accountabilities will be to:





Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.







Issue purchase orders and change notices to purchasing agents.







Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis reports.







Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.







Develop and install office procedures and practices, and studies work flow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine expediency of installing new or improved office machines.




Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.








Bachelors degree, 5+ years industry-related purchasing experience (ex. automotive) as well as strong relationship building, negotiating, and analytical skills are required for this opportunity. Must have demonstrated Microsoft Office computer skills and APICS certification is preferred.
