Quality Assurance Engr II

Job Description: Provide Program Quality Assurance support to the EKV program. Primary responsibility will be in support of EKV flight test operations, test and integration activities at various sites including Huntsville, Vandenberg, Ft. Greely, and possible overseas locations requiring extensive travel. Support process improvements (internal and external) involving the application of new and/or existing process improvement tools and techniques. Support operational and delivery requirements inclusive of Consent to Ship or similar processes. Perform Quality Engineering activities in support of in-plant production operations. Support in-plant and supplier test/qualification, validation and prove-in of support equipment, tooling and test stations such as MRTF Supplier Testing and CEII Payload Qualification efforts. Support in-plant and supplier site process validations and Hardware Acceptance Reviews as required. Responsible for prompt and thorough completion of assigned MRB actions, PPV's and CAB support. Point of contact for internal and external customers on program related issues. Assess and prepare RQI metrics as required. Participate as an Integrated Product Team member as needed.
Required Skills: Good background in Quality and hardware disciplines. Demonstrated ability to identify problem root cause and initiate/implement effective short-term and long-term corrective actions, Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision making skills with general supervisory intervention. Ability to effectively communicate throughout various levels of the company and customer community. Experience in the deployment of Statistical Process Control and/or other process/performance improvement techniques. Demonstrated proficiency at preparing and presenting management and customer presentations. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Desired Skills: Commensurate familiarity/experience in engineering and production/manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret and apply Quality and defense-related contractual and regulatory requirements. Strong familiarity/working knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 disciplines preferred. Computer proficiency highly desirable. Degreed individual preferred but applicable technical experience may be considered.
Required Education(including Major): B.S. - Engineering, General; Quality Engineering; Industrial Engineering. Applicable technical experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
