Job Description/ Qualifications:A company located in Ayer, Massachusetts, is seeking to fill an opening in its shipping department. They are looking for candidates with exceptional work ethics to fill this full time 1st shift opening. The successful candidate will perform physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Lifting heavy/light weight items.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Managing packing material such as boxes, bubble wrap, tape etc.; shipping all out going material in accordance with the shipping instructions via UPS, FedEx, Eagle, DHL etc. (this may require scheduling trucks for pick up); maintaining the shipping area to ensure it is clean and free of debris; being responsible and a fast learner; performing all other duties as required.
Skills and experience required include: ability to lift boxes as heavy as 50 lbs.; ability to work under the demands of a production schedule; ability to interpret and follow 'special
instructions' and function well in a team environment; being an effective communicator, able to handle a variety of assignments in a production environment; knowledge and use of standard office machines including: Telephone, calculator, copier, fax, etc.; skill in written and oral communications; Skill in basic mathematics (Addition, subtraction, etc.); ability to be flexible; ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision; ability to pay attention to detail; ability to speak, read and write English; eligiblility to work in the United States.
High School Diploma/equivalent required.
2-3 years experience required.
