CMP Slurry Mixing Technician (1st Shift: 6:00AM - 3:00PM)

POSITION SUMMARY: The CMP Slurry Mixing Technician reports to the Materials Integration Center Manager: Mixes, filters and documents slurry for each days testing, coordinates with engineering and lab staff on slurry and chemistry needs, performs weekly inventory of materials, unpacks incoming materials and puts in storage, participates in achieving the company quality goals; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Mixes, filters and documents slurry for each days testing: coordinates with engineering and lab staff on slurry and chemistry needs for each day; filters required material, adds other chemistry as requested and mixes final for combination; documents what was done for each slurry, labels appropriate container and delivers to lab staff for use. Works closely with lab staff and engineering to assure slurry preparation is identical at all sites.

2. Performs weekly inventory of materials, unpacks incoming materials and puts in storage for future use; keeps work area organized and clean. Trains others on proper mixing of slurry and preparation of chemicals in pressurized canisters.

3. Participates in achieving the company quality goals: develops and takes ownership for the employee certification program; dedicated to reducing product variation and to the spirit and body of continuous improvement; strives for a better understanding of our customer's requirements; maintains proficiency in problem solving techniques; embraces the concept of teamwork; takes ownership for the quality of the products produced and services performed; and provides excellent internal and external customer service.

4. Operates in compliance with company safety practices: complies with and aides in the development of departmental safety rules; ensures all equipment is in good working order and operates in a safe manner; follows procedures for handling and disposal of chemicals; monitors area for hazards; uses safety equipment when required; and maintains a safe, clean work area.

5. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Chemistry background - high school chemistry required and some college chemistry highly recommended.

2. Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.

3. Ability to work with people at all levels is required.

4. Excellent communication, statistical analysis, time management and organizational skills are required.

5. Basic Microsoft office (Word, Excel) usage required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs and work on elevated platforms, work and travel throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity; grasp and hold small objects, a full range of motion, and to wear personal protective devices.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The working environment is general office and manufacturing plant. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
