REQUIREMENTS

**HS/GED - SOME COLLEGE LEVEL COURSEWORK PREFERRED.
**Three + years experience in emergency, trauma or surgical areas.
**Experience in coding, data entry, and medical extraction.
**Medical terminology preferred.
** Effective Communicator - Interpersonal skills helpful
** Ability to multitask in high volume environment

Responsible for Trauma Registry maintenance. Enters data from patient records and abstracts data to formulate reports. Assists with research studies with data available from registry. Trauma registrar for the St. Joseph's trauma services. Responsible for data entry from patient charts and abstraction of audit filters into Trauma One Database. Strong computer skills essential for abstraction and report writing. Must be familiar with medical terminology and components of medical chart. Experience with coding is helpful. Prefer candidate with prior registry experience

** Responsible for Trauma Registry content including chart abstraction, data entry, and data brought in via interface.
** Trouble shoots issues with software and hardware, coordinates upgrade repairs, and interfaces.
** Generates reports to assist research, grant writing, certification, quality monitoring, business development and special projects.
** Provides training to other Trauma Data Analysts.
** Knowledgeable to medical terminology and able to identify complications and procedures in patient's medical record.
