The Group Product Director will provide leadership for the Marketing group, and outside advertising and PR agencies to support sales and profit objectives of the organization. Develop comprehensive short and long-range strategies and programs for multiple product lines. In accordance with Neutrogena's policies and applicable laws and regulations, select, reward, discipline, develop and train employees. Plan and direct performance of Marketing Managers, Associates, Assistants and an Executive Assistant: Motivate employees, assist in goal setting, provide development opportunities and performance feedback, address complaints and resolve problems. Establish strategic marketing plans to drive sales and profit that meet company goals. Direct all elements of Marketing including new product concepts and development, advertising creative media, promotions, public relations, research, pricing and packaging of two or more product lines. Direct research and analysis to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity. Oversee and evaluate market research. Adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions; monitor competitive products and marketing activities. Develop and manage marketing operating budget. Ensure effective control of marketing results, and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets. Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share. Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share to meet marketing plan goals. Resolve conflicts and facilitate changes in structure of marketing group to ensure goal achievement and a swift response to marketing problems and opportunities. Additional Job Responsibilities will include: Serve as key liaison with Sales, Retailers and International Marketing. Initiate marketing surveys and research projects on current and new product concepts, and provide feedback for future product development. Ensure a unified brand image and message throughout all advertising, packaging and promotional efforts. Direct the preparation for all brand presentations, including Business Plans and Sales Meetings. Guide preparation of marketing activity reports and present to executive management.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required with an emphasis in Marketing preferred. A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Degree is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of traditional marketing experience is required. Marketing experience in the skincare industry is highly desirable. Strategic planning experience is required. Experience in launching multiple new products each year is required. Experience in managing large media budgets and developing multiple TV and Print campaigns is required. Experience developing integrated media plans is required. Experience with emerging media is desirable. Supervisory experience is required. Prior P&L Responsibility is required. Experience with product and brand positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy is required. Experience developing and launching "New to Market" products is highly desirable. This position requires approximately 10-15 % domestic travel.
