The Senior Manager will report to the Vice President, Corporate Strategy, and assist in leading the ongoing development of Applied Material?s corporate strategy. Team responsibility includes development and deployment of Applied Material?s overarching mission and vision, target market definition, long-term strategic priorities, and annual corporate priorities. In addition to strategy development and communication, the Senior Manager will allocate at least 50% time to strategy project execution. Projects include analysis and recommendation related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and internal business performance improvement. The Senior Manager will both lead project teams and individually execute entire projects, thereby utilizing a broad set of skills including issue and data analysis, problem solving, project management, and communication. The Senior Manager will work closely with the VP, Applied?s executive team and senior staff to develop and implement recommendations. Specific responsibilities include: 1. Development of corporate strategy 2. Long-term financial forecast 3. Strategy project leadership and execution [a.] Emerging industry trends [b.] Competitive threats [c.] Expansion opportunities [d.] Internal business performance improvement 4. Candidates should have 2+ years post-MBA and will have achieved managerial and project leadership seniority at a leading strategic consulting firm. The highest demonstrated performance is expected at all professional and educational career stages. The candidate must show facility with executive-level consultations. This requires demonstrated skills in fact-based analysis, presentation, and interpersonal interaction. The candidate must also excel in all areas of strategy development, including project management, business analysis, problem solving, recommendation, consensus building, and people development.
One goal of the Corporate Strategy team is to develop future business leaders for the Company. Success within the team will lead to senior-level business management positions within Applied.
