Job Description
Product Marketing Manager-Saleslogix
The Product Marketing Manager will manage go-to-market activities and create marketing deliverables for product launches, developing baseline positioning and messaging content for collateral, presentations, websites, and sales tools. The Product Marketing Manager will also serve as the liaison between the business unit and regional marketing teams both domestically and internationally.
Working closely with the Product Management team, this person will receive and analyze product concepts, features and specifications - identifying the customer benefits and messaging that will most effectively sell new software products and services. The Product Marketing Manager will determine appropriate positioning and messaging through prospect, customer and competitive research, and then package and communicate all related deliverables through various mediums to the appropriate internal and external constituencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with product management to understand product and service features, functionality and customer benefits.
Oversee the planning and execution of all launch activities--from initial development of a comprehensive Launch Kit, to ongoing cross-functional meetings tracked by a launch schedule.
Manage product marketing efforts on an ongoing basis with internal departments and third party providers as appropriate.
Work with North America and International teams to elevate the SalesLogix brand and ensure product positioning is accurate.
Participate in and be responsible for high-level overview during sales training and production of requisite sales tools/collateral for products and services (spec sheets, FAQs, web demos, etc.).
Present and demo products and services as needed for internal (sales, executives) and external parties (customers/industry leaders/press/analysts).
Generate and maintain competitive matrix for products and services, with input from product managers.
Continually seek new ways of improving existing processes or introduce new processes to bring efficiency and value to the business.
Required qualifications:
Four-year college degree in a relevant field (marketing, business administration, and business communications) preferred.
Minimum two years of product marketing/marketing or related experience ideally in a commercial business application software environment, or related industry.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task, deadline-driven work environment
Strong written communication skills are a must.
Proven track record of launching new products on time.
Demonstrable accomplishment of process improvements and/or introduction of new processes resulting in increased business efficiency.
Strong project management skills with preference for experience in business software or related applications.
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to quickly assess situation and react with proposed solutions based on analysis of all factors.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally, between technical and non-technical teams.
Be a team player and demonstrate positive interpersonal skills.
Must be detail and process-oriented.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
Consistently demonstrate a high level of customer service for internal and external customers.
Preferred qualifications:
Marketing, business and technical computing background desired.
Small business software or CRM software experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.Technical aptitude a plus.
