Software Engineer/Firmware

Job Description:

Overview LeapFrog is a leading developer of educational products in the consumer toy and school markets. Our products are conceived, designed and developed by an extended cross-functional project team. They are often in unique handheld form factors and use a wide variety of input and output devices, audio and graphics to interact with the user.We are looking for a software engineer to provide technical leadership as well as apply their implementation skills to the PC and embedded solutions found in our products. Our software is developed primarily in C/C++ using a variety of standard and proprietary tools and runs on our custom ASIC’s, standard processors and PC/Mac systems. You’ll work closely with our creative, mechanical, hardware, custom ASIC and marketing teams to design and implement these creative, cost effective, educational and fun products. Duties & Responsibilities
Design, implement, test and document quality desktop and embedded software for our educational products.
Work with product team members to refine product definitions, schedules and tasks and then deliver on those commitments.
Support existing products and content development teamsKnowledge & Skills
Strong, proven PC/Mac SW design, implementation and debugging skills in C/C++ for USB, wireless, networking and communication drivers and protocols. Similar experience with 8 bit to 32 bit microprocessors at the RTOS and device driver level a plus.
Experience in consumer product development, Windows/Mac application development, games, multi-media and audio development a plus.
Excellent cross-disciplinary communication and teamwork skills.Education & Training
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
5 Years of related software development experience.
