Job Description
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be the business product lead of Schwab Institutional Data Infrastructure initiatives. Specifically, this product manager will focus on creating a world class customer experience by building out our technical capabilities to support an Institutional Data Infrastructure.
This person will typically lead project team(s) consisting of business and technical PMs, QA, and mainframe resources, and interface with cross-enterprise stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Operations, TCS (Technical Client support), and Investment Advisors to elicit requirements and get commitment. They must be able to write clear, concise business requirements, partner with our business and technical PMs to ensure implementation of the requirements, and work with internal resources to cycle through usability testing.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree as well as 6 plus years financial services industry experience. A MBA is highly preferred but overall experience, a proven track record of bringing financial service products to market, great communications skills, creativity, and vendor negotiation and management is what counts.
Knowledge of financial services industry is required. Understanding of investment advisor industry is preferred.
Strong conceptual thinking skills ability to envision services/capabilities that dont currently exist based on in-depth understanding of industry trends and marketplace needs.
Highly developed analytical skills ability to gather information from a diverse set of resources and synthesize into strategies and tactical plans for execution.
Solid understanding and exposure to the following functional competencies client service, operations, sales, marketing, MIS and finance.
Previous experience in the areas of mainframe and distributed databases is a plus.
Ability to participate with senior management in setting strategic direction
Ability to develop and articulate a business case and successfully influence up, down, and across various functional teams
Capable of managing cross-enterprise teams in the context of developing & implementing various deliverables
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; partner / client relationship management experience
Strong customer focus, including ability to think in terms of customer experience/perspective
Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Demonstrates excellent teamwork and promotes a strong team environment.
