Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.




Position Purpose: To develop, market, implement, administer, and oversee all March of Dimes services and programs in the areas of public and professional education, grants, and community services and ensure that the March of Dimes is recognized as a Maternal & Child Health leader in the state.

Position Responsibilities:





Recruit, train, and support chapter volunteer leaders for all program committees including Program Services, Public Affairs, Professional and Public Health Education committees..

Create, implement and evaluate yearly program plan to achieve the Program Standards for Success and all goals and objectives set out in the program plan.

Create, plan, secure funding for, and implement programs that support local perinatal needs.

Manage and implement health education programs including Prematurity Campaign, Pregnancy Workshop, Comenzando Bien, Storks Nest and Project Alpha.

Manage administrative activities of the Program Services Department, which include hiring, evaluation, and supervision of staff, participation on the chapter management team, maintaining department budgets, and completion of reports for chapter, regional and national offices.

Recruit and manage an active State Public Affairs Committee and lead legislative and/or regulatory initiatives that advance the March of Dimes Foundation-wide priority issues as approved by the Board of Trustees. Oversee and ensure effective chapter advocacy planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Manage the chapter s consultant contract for public affairs.

Collaborate with divisions to develop and implement program services activities.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with allied healthcare agencies, government, community groups, and corporations. Manage coalition involvement and community outreach.

Integrate mission into all communications and fundraising activities through staff and volunteer training, creating and providing tools and resources, participating in chapter events and co-planning with event and chapter managers.

Integrate Team Youth activities and volunteers in mission, fundraising, and advocacy activities.
Qualifications Required:


Five years experience in maternal and child health, or related field.

Master s degree in public health, public policy, public administration, social work or equivalent education and experience.

Experience working with diverse communities and organizations.

Strong written communications skills.

Experience in managing staff and developing volunteers.

Extensive knowledge in program planning, evaluation, data analysis, grant review and grant writing.

Excellent organizational, analytic, writing and speaking skills..
