Job Description:

Del Amo Hospital is seeking Social Workers/Therapists for a new residential Eating Disorders program for adolescents in the Canyon Lake area that will be opening in July 2006. The Therapist/Social Worker provides direct care to patients as appropriate by assisting patients and their families through the use of psychotherapeutic skills to understand, identify and resolve complex problems resulting from psychiatric illness by utilizing group therapy, individual therapy, discharge planning and case management activities.

Job Requirements:

· Masters Degree in Social Work or related field (i.e. counseling, psychology, etc.) · California State License LCSW or MFT preferred · Previous placement or internship in a psychiatric setting preferred · Must have working knowledge of group and individual therapeutic models and the ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision · Knowledge of mental health discharge planning and community services. · Good oral and written communication skills · Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with patients and their families, physicians, staff, administration, the public, and outside agencies.
