INVENTORY ANALYST

INVENTORY ANALYST





The Inventory Analyst will work with the Merchandising Staff and vendors to ensure adequate stock levels for our catalog merchandise. Responsibilities include negotiating price, forecasting future needs, arranging timely shipping, creating purchase orders and tracking shipments.





RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


Manage items within categories and web channel forecasts, insure flow of inventory by placing/adjusting orders, monitor order status for on time delivery and proactively identify issues to achieve goals for sales and turn.

Maintain communication with vendors and agents regarding purchasing lead times, current purchase order status, shipping and delivery issues.

Analyze item, classification and department performance for catalogs and web channel in order to identify opportunities and issues.

Complete weekly status reports


QUALIFICATIONS:


1-2 years experience in either planning and forecasting, inventory control, buying or purchasing

Retail or catalog experience preferred

Strong analytical skills

Computer skills in MS Office required, experience in Forecast 21 preferred

Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential

Ability to work alone and be able to communicate effectively with various personnel levels

Bachelors degree preferred
