Retail Technology Specialist (Montvale, NJ Or Pell City, Alabama)

Job Description This purpose of this position is to support, administrate and assist in the development of Benjamin Moore peripheral hardware and related software for the Retail Organization.
Provide level 2 support for retail hardware including peripheral devices, local PC applications and Operating System issues that meet or exceed our current service level requirements to our customers
IT asset tracking of all device models, configurations, firmware levels.
Assist in Operating System updates on retail PC workstations including writing installation scripts for application components, hardware firmware updates, etc.
Monitor and report on the status of remote applications that support POS operations. The performance must meet our Service Level agreements that are in place to support our customers.
Administration and support of wireless handheld devices including package building, update and delivery via management console.
Assist in developing device standards as new hardware becomes available. This includes de-support/obsolescent planning of all field hardware and development of migration plan for new corporate standards.
Assist Help Desk when manual changes are required on remote PC's based on our current service level agreements we have with our customers
Travel to remote locations when system evaluation is required. Required Skills

4 years college degree or equivalent technical training or work experience
2 years or more experience in working with retail technology and related hardware.
MCSE and/or prior experience working with and administrating Microsoft XP, receipt printers, signature capture devices, etc is a plus.
Must have an excellent technical background with ability to learn new things quickly.
Above average understanding and use of the following:
Microsoft Window XP professional
Writing batch files and script files for the purpose of administration
Telnet/Hyperterm/HTTP skills
Work with database applications for purpose of Ad-hoc reports
LAN/WAN client configurations
Must have good written and verbal communications skills
Must be a self starter with the ability to deliver without close supervision.
Strong Microsoft Office Skill in Project, Excel, Word and Access
Must be able to travel (20%)
