Property Accountant

A privately owned real estate investment and management firm is seeking a Property Accountant to join its financial team.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packages

Perform a variety of entry level accounting functions applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records

Process, apply and reconcile cash receipts; wire debt payments; prepare bank reconciliations

Process invoice payments; process and reconcile billing

Calculate straight line rent; calculate monthly depreciation/amortization

A/R collections

Make accrual and other journal entries to complete financials

Respond to billing inquiries from tenants

Prepare capital/leasing expenditure escrow reserve release packages

Assist in preparation of property budget and upload it into MRI

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Must be a team player and flexible to perform a variety of tasks in support of the entire Accounting Department

Comprehensive knowledge of Excel and basic knowledge of Word

Experience with MRI is a plus

Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
