Responsibilities
Assists Merchandise Manager in the selection of merchandise for orders, places orders, and stays involved in inventory distribution. Assists in reviewing the success of previous orders to determine extent to which inventory should be replenished. Assists in researching new trends or advances in product lines to make appropriate buying decisions. Assist with the functions as a decision maker with orders of a larger and more complex scope. Assists in identifying and managing opportunities with regard to sales performance, vendor shipping performance, industry wide competitive trends and opportunities, category specific and promotional opportunities, as well as overall vendor performance. Interacts daily with the vendors, stores and corporate personnel to achieve maximum results. Develops and manages relationships with vendors in order to facilitate the attainment of Company business objectives through complex business transactions.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree level of knowledge in Business Administration or Marketing is preferred

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Prefer having some knowledge in merchandising management
Prefer previous product and retail knowledge and merchandising experience
Prefer some knowledge of merchandising systems, agreements, and budgeting methods
Ability and flexibility to work independently on a wide variety of unstructured time sensitive projects is required as well as the ability to present results in a concise and coherent manner
Basic understanding of product and category marketing
The ability to read and understand basic as well as complex contracts
Comfortable complex vendor negotiations
The ability to accept and excel in an ever-changing work environment
Fundamental understanding of business terms and accounting practices
Excellent organizational and presentation skills
Extensive personal computer skills
Ability to effectively analyze and communicate information
Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and personnel issues
Effective written and verbal communication skills
