General Summary:


The District Manager (DM) develops and articulates a vision and strategy for Old Navy U.S. stores in the assigned district. The DM motivates and inspires the team to complete the sales generation, operation and personnel functions in the store to ensure customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability, and compliance with company procedures. The DM trains and develops general and store managers. The DM monitors the development of associate and assistant managers and sales and stock supervisors.

Develops routines with the stores to effectively meet a stores individual needs or unique differences.

Is able to quickly spot trends that could positively or adversely affect the store condition. Then impacts them.

Advises and coaches stores on effective payroll allocation and management of all expense lines.

Invests time in people development and good planning for GM's, OM's, MM's and other high potential leaders within the district.

Ensures all merchandising and visual standards are followed.

Drives profitable sales through decisions made on inventory, presentation, placement and signing.

Is an ambassador for great customer service.

Partners with loss prevention to drive down losses in district.

Has a strong bias for action.

Values and uses his and others time wisely and efficiently.

Sets clear goals and objectives.

Makes tough decisions in a timely manner

Focuses on results and quality vs. just compliance.

Has the ability to plan both short and long range.

Effectively eliminates any conflicts in priorities or schedules to minimize changes at store level.

Develops recaps and recommended changes for seasons and events.

Reinforces company priorities through great planning.

Effectively follows up on all plans and commitments.

Communicates a clear picture of all expectations.

Minimum Requirements:


Three to five years multi-unit retail management experience or equivalent.

High school graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which may require evening and weekend shifts.
