Overview:
Although customer service skills are important in every executive position at Macy's, the Merchandise Team Manager's primary responsibility is to provide support to the selling organization. This includes ensuring that your designated department is always customer ready through the execution of the highest possible merchandise presentation standards, proper handling of price changes and processing mark downs on a timely basis.

Key Accountabilities:
The position of MTM is a challenging position in which an individual has the opportunity to affect virtually every aspect of the storeline support. Some of these opportunities include:
Directing flow and placement of daily merchandise receipts
Coordinating merchandise flow activities with Receiving Team Manager
Working closely with Group Sales Managers to coordinate daily and weekly activities to achieve the greatest possible productivity
Ensuring high stockroom standards
Executing merchandise presentation to departmental and visual standards
Facilitating floor moves
Providing direction for support associates in their daily activities including processing of mark downs / transfers / merchandising floor
Maintaining strong partnerships and negotiating effectively with internal partners
Training, motivating and developing team to achieve highest possible performance
Providing consistent performance feedback to support associates
Ensuring replenishment of merchandise to drive service, sales and gross margins
Directing merchandise related financial functions

Skills Summary:
To be a successful Merchandise Team Manager at Macy's it is imperative that you bring a strong management background. This should include 2 - 5 years of related management experience in a department store.
