Automation Sales Representative




High end automation company seeks salesperson to work with end users on their automation needs--this includes stepper motors and drives, HMI's, PLC's, Vision Systems, etc. Local territories with virtually no overnight travel--territory openings exist in Chicago, Phoenix, Denver, Boston, Hartford, CT, and Cleveland. There is a commission above the quoted base salary plus mileage and home office setup.





Summary:


Responsible for all aspects of outside sales including, but not limited to, territorial sales growth, servicing accounts, & developing new accounts





Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


- Establish and maintain accounts within a defined sales territory


- Grow assigned territory by a pre-set minimum percentage each year


- Maintain a weekly sales call average as determined by sales and/or branch manager


- Manage territory via application assistance with customer engineering, selling Minarik product lines, and making sales calls with supplier sales reps


- Maintain and update customer information


- Schedule sales appointments & submit itinerary to sales and/or branch manager


- Periodically submit business plan to increase territory sales volume


- Establish & maintain a positive relationship with customer, vendors, and factory reps while exhibiting cooperative and courteous behavior





Non-Essential Duties & Other Responsibilities:


- Submit all reports on time


- Maintain professional, technical, and computer knowledge via educational training/workshops/publications


- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report all unsafe activity to supervisor or Human Resources


- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals


- Perform other duties as assigned





Education, Experience & Requirements:


- Advanced selling skills, strong technical comprehension of automation products and their applications, strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand technical products and industrial applications


- Excellent written & verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills


- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); college degree with EE or ME background preferred


- 2-3 years related experience with proven record in sales


- Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and database activity
