Federal Oracle DBA

Key ResponsibilitiesOracle database administrator (DBA) in support of DISA, Systems Management Center (SMC) Montgomery. Provide remote database administration for multiple Air Force and DOD systems supporting over 500,000 users worldwide. Responsible for maintaining over 500 HP and Sun mid tier servers and over 600 Oracle instances at Air Force and DISA locations, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Responsible for performing daily Oracle database administration duties to ensure maximum data availability and optimal database performance. Responsible for proactively monitoring database conditions to resolve potential troubles before they impact customer operations. Performs application administration to include privileges, user administration, database tuning and backup/recovery processes. Troubleshoot and resolve customer trouble calls reported by individual users and individual program offices.
Critical Technical & Behavioral Skills/QualificationsThe candidate will require excellent analytical and communications/leadership skills as well as possess knowledge of and experience in supporting midtier systems and networks in Air Force or DISA environment.
