IT ANALYST III - Research & Benchmarking Analyst

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Research and Benchmarking Analyst is a member of the Strategy &
Governance team, helping the business and IT identify and evaluate enterprise
systems and technology. This individual will conduct market research to track
Insurance industry trends, assess competitive activity, and keep abreast of
industry best practices. The position requires solid research skills, effective
communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong analytical skills.

· Perform market research to support the IT in helping clients assess new
technologies
· Track and analyze trends in the Insurance and enterprise systems industries
· Perform competitor analysis for clients
· Research best practices for Insurance and IT operations
· Manage research and benchmarking process
· Manage vendor relationships and contracts with primary research sources (e.g.,
Gartner, Forrester, Cutter Consortium, Info-Tech, and Lexis-Nexis)
· Provide analysis support for the periodic strategic planning process
· Provide analysis support for the Portfolio and Demand Management process
· Alerts managers to potential risks and issues of importance. Makes
recommendations to transfer, accept or mitigate risks.
· Leads structured sessions to uncover client requirements
· May direct contractors and third party suppliers to produce project
deliverables.
· Mentors more junior analysts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required (may be
substituted with four years additional experience in relevant analytical
activities); MBA preferred.

6 years of general business analysis, research, or benchmarking experience
required

4 years of IT related experience

Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and organizational skills

Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable
to the business.

Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

Demonstrated track record in new concept development.

Ability to multi-task within flexible working environment.
