Network Technician
Network Technician and PC Help Desk Support
Assemble, install, configure, and maintain all personal computers, such as desktops, laptops, and palmtops, and their related operating systems. Must be able to demonstrate strong working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (98/2000/XP), Microsoft Office (2000/2003) and Exchange servers.
Install, configure, and maintain
personal computer hardware, such as motherboards, hard drives, memory, network cards, and modems, and their respective BIOSs and software drivers.
printing systems, such as printers, printer cables, and print drivers, to include network printers and print servers.
basic office applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, to include providing basic training in these.
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to any of the above tasks.
Troubleshoot network problems such as network card faults, TCP/IP stack faults, cable faults, basic LAN configuration faults, and any client operating system or configuration problem that prevents network connectivity.
Perform basic network account administration, to include account setup, mailbox setup, password changes, remote access permissions, and unlocking of accounts.
Configure remote access to the network for off-site network users.
Help Desk support for any of the above for approximately 250 end users both onsite and offsite
Requires good communications and customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. All candidates must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening.
