SAP Applications Specialist


Greensboro, NC & Hopewell, VA














General Purpose:


This position is to provide functional R/3 support for users of the P10 and GP2 SAP R/3 systems, including troubleshooting, training, authorizations, and enhancements. The desired focus for this position is to improve the support for the SAP systems used by customers and participate in the CC activities to accomplish the strategy defined by the customers, based upon business drivers.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Provide SAP application support for specific modules, including implementation, enhancements, and maintenance


Resolve user problems

Identify system problems, resolution, and resources required

Act as a contact for projects in the area of expertise

Provide guidance in how to handle business processes in SAP

Assist users in writing procedures for proper utilization of new application systems




Map business requirements to SAP to determine detailed design of SAP and non-SAP solutions




Perform systems analysis for implementation and modification of a selected application




Configure the SAP system




Write requirement and design specifications for enhancements




Proactively identify where system improvements can increase efficiency and user satisfaction




Support cross functional issues resolution





Solution requires knowledge of a second SAP module and/or interface with other functional areas (IOS, its.on, etc.)




Manage implementation of functional solutions to problems





Identify necessary resources to resolve problem




Design functional solution




Test solution




Document resolution




Participate in projects to implement and/or optimize SAP





Provide migration support (carve-in/carve-out)




Work closely with other team members and key users




Support conversion processes




Technically configure and develop the system, including master file and table configuration, layouts and form specifications (SAPScript), reports generation (ABAP)




Conduct end user training





Identify training needs




Develop training materials and plan




Organize and deliver training classes




Provide individual coaching to single users


Qualifications:



Education & Experience: Requires a college degree in information systems or equivalent experience; 3+ years of experience in the functional business area of specialization in a professional capacity; and 1+ year of IT experience with SAP systems in the quality management and/or logistics areas


Experience in SAP implementations and capable of transferring functional requirements into SAP solutions


Strong organization and communication skills


Must be able to travel (domestic 20% and international 5%) as part of the job
