System Administrator - Solaris/Linux

The Information Systems division of Edward Jones currently has an opening for a System Administrator.

Responsibilities:
-Provide first-level support for assigned systems, including rotating assignment to provide 24x7 on-call coverage and monitoring system logs and messages.
-Develop, package, test, document and implement quality infrastructure solutions.
-Debug and correct internal and external infrastructure problems.
-Provide estimates for assigned deliverables as directed by leader.
-Perform Basic programming/scripting/packaging functions.
-Provide system performance, tuning, internals and root cause determination.
-Assist in developing technical requirements and interoperability of systems.
-Follow system development lifecycle methodology.

Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc. preferred or equivalent experience in information systems.
-General understanding of hardware, operating systems and network technologies.
-Understanding of software installation and implementation-planning cycles.
-Basic knowledge of financial services industry is preferred.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor, as required.
