The Information Systems at Edward Jones is seeking a talented individual to add as a Team Leader. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience with information systems development and support, preferably in a SOC / NOC environment and at least one year of team-leadership experience within a technical environment preferred. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, organizational, time-management, and project-management skills. Responsibilities:
-Plan, direct, and manage the activities of a SOC / NOC team of technical associates/contractors responsible for operation, support, development, and implementation of information systems and related components (Network, Unix/Windows Servers, Mainframe, Web, Workstations, etc.).
-Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships within and across teams, business areas, and vendors.
-Align team activities and responsibilities with the firm's strategic direction.
-Develop and execute on-going improvements to all processes related to team as well as department opportunities e.g. software distribution process, systems support for users, etc.
-Ensure prudent use of the firm's financial resources.
-Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to associates through examples and timely feedback.
-Develop successors for key positions on their team Lead by example, demonstrating firm values.
Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc. preferred or equivalent experience.
-Five or more years of experience directly related to information systems (Network, Unix/Windows Servers, Mainframe, Web, Workstations, etc.).
-One or more years of experience in a leadership capacity developing/mentoring associates, lead analysts, project leaders, etc. is preferred.
-Detailed understanding of project management methodologies, system development lifecycle, infrastructure best practices and risk management concepts.
-Knowledge of business system interactions, infrastructure dependencies, etc.
-Systems development methodology experience and processes within information systems Change management, QA, etc. knowledge.
-Knowledge of current state-of-the-art and emerging technology trends, vendors and products.
-Experience in financial services industry is preferred.
-Excellent ability to lead, mentor, train and develop leaders and technical associates.
-Excellent relationship-management skills with all organizational levels.
