Windows Systems Administrator
Position Type: Consulting
This position will be part of a team responsible for configuring, supporting, troubleshooting and administering a variety of Windows servers including File and Print servers, MS Exchange Servers, IIS Web Servers, remote access servers and utility windows servers spanning multiple locations. These duties will include monitoring and maintaining application servers and domain servers. Additionally this individual will be responsible for managing IT projects, deploying new solutions and making recommendations on future IT initiatives.
Job responsibilities:
1.Assist in planning and implementing systems upgrades, both from a hardware and software and application perspective;
2.Develop disaster recovery solutions for all Windows based services.
3.Develop and document operational procedures for Windows servers and applications.
4.Own and manage IT projects.
5.Troubleshooting hardware and software issues in order to ensure maximum up-time of windows servers and windows desktops;
6.Propose and implement system upgrades and enhancements;
7.Gather, analyze and correct Performance related issues;
8.Resolve AD related issues and errors;
9.Create and maintain a comprehensive backup system utilizing Veritas Netbackup;
10.Support applications running on the Windows servers;
11.Support a comprehensive patch management system for the Windows servers and Windows desktops;
12.Create, monitor and maintain a virus management system;
13.Assist in Windows AD and user administration duties corporate wide, including creating users and groups; assigning user and group rights; setting up shares, volumes and directories; and monitoring servers, storage and events corporate wide;
14.Administer the AD, FTP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, WINS services;
15.Implement utilities that help to increase security, sustain high degrees of availability and allow for proactive support of the infrastructure servers;
16.Design and maintain the AD structure, create Group Policies and ensure optimal AD security and performance;
17.Implement and support Microsoft WSUS, RIS, and Group Policies.
18.Support Virus and Spyware Enterprise Solution
19.Backup Support for Unix and Linux systems.
20.Backup Support for Netapp Storage administration

Requirements
Business Skills: Strong Project Management skills. Experience managing IT projects
Technical skills: MCSE or MCSA. College degree with emphasis on Computer Science. Experience with Design and support of AD infrastructure.
Extensive experience with windows 2000 and 2003 platforms.
Three+ years administering Windows 2000 and 2003 servers.
Non Technical Skills: Excellent Communication skills both oral and written
