PROJECT MANAGER (IT)
Job Information:
Primary Function: Analyzes business processes and problems. Develops project schedule, risks, interfaces, costs, budgets and milestones for I/T projects.. Develops solutions for internal customers with strong project management fundamentals. Coordinates the day-to-day activities and direction of a project team through from start through completion. Description:
Performs and directs the overall definition of information technology requirements, including the investigation of alternatives, risks, costs, internal and external design, testing plans, development and implementation activities to meet the needs of business units and internal customer(s)
Prepares project plans, development approaches, estimated costs, risks, interfaces and schedules for approval by Information Technology management and internal customers.
Directs a project team and coordinates both Information Technology and business unit project related activities required to complete an approved phase of work within time and budget (as appropriate) to meet overall business requirement and internal customer expectations
Reviews work of assigned project staff to assure adherence to current Information Technology standards, methodology, practices and techniques.
Performs performance evaluation and staff development activities for project team personnel to gain maximum contribution from each employee
Performs project management, tracking and control activities for assigned projects and reports status accurately to both I/T management and the business unit sponsor(s), as appropriate. Assures that direct supervisor and the project sponsor, if appropriate are made aware of all risks, problems or potential problem situations in a timely manner
Refines and updates technical and business skills and experience through work assignments, advanced technical and business training, attending professional and business industry conferences and actively participating in professional organizations Skills:
Computer operations, human relations, project management and leadership skills. Education Required: Baccalaureate from an accredited university or college in a technical major (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) required; MBA a plus, one additional year of the required experience maybe substituted for each one year of required college. Experience Required: Eight years experience in all aspects of information systems. Supervision Received: Minimal Confidential Data: All AS/400 data Status: Exempt
