Post Description

POSITION PROFILE
Senior Solution Engineer, Capture Center of Excellence will have accountability for the design and
integrity of all CCOE-related deliverables, products, and customer solutions. In addition, the Senior
Solution Engineer has responsibility for mentoring Solution Engineers and for developing CCOE
Programming & QA standards. Secondary responsibilities include support of the Sales & Marketing
organizations. Approximately 50% travel to client sites is expected to complete responsibilities.
The Senior Solution Engineer must possess knowledge of Capture and Content software solutions
and services, as well as consulting services offerings and business process reengineering.
Secondary responsibilities include strategic activities related to project profitability, client
management, and staff development & mentoring.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership
Assist the Director and/or Project Manager in the allocation of assignments to team members.
Lead the creation of technical design documents.
Work with the other team members to translate business specifications and create technical
specifications.
Obtain sign-off for the Technical Design from the appropriate team members for each project.
Lead the technical project meetings and communications associated with the development,
testing and implementation phases of each project.
Lead the technical members of each project through the technical development phase of the
project.
Ensure all technical members of the project understand the full scope of the solution and where
their piece(s) fit; that they have the information and tools they require for their role in the project.
Prepare and deliver frequent project status reports to the Project Manager. Participate in
preparing and delivering project status reports to CCOE staff and clients.
Escalate potential project plan variances to the Project Manager.
Escalate product design issues to other team members and work to resolve these issues.
Serve as project manager on projects as determined by the Director.
Project Participation
Participate in project meetings and project communications.
Assist in the development of project plans, specifically the components associated with the
technical design, development, system testing, and implementation phases of the project. Work
with the Project Manager to incorporate these components into the master project plan.
Assist the Project Manager in project reviews and SARs.
Maintain awareness of the status for all projects, specifically to ensure that there are no
technical problems.
Keep project members, and your Manager up to date with planned personal time (e.g. vacation,
dental & doctors appointments, etc.)
Accurate completion of the billable-time reports by the set deadlines.
CCOE Standards
Participate in researching and lead the development CCOE Programming Standards and tools.
Participate in researching and setting CCOE QA & Testing Standards, methodologies and tools.
Work with the Solution Engineers to implement and reinforce CCOE Standards.
Review code produced from technical project members and audit against the CCOE
Programming Standards.
Help establish and maintain vendor product lab environment.
Sales/Marketing Assistance
Support the Marketing phase of a project by answering product-related technical questions.
Support the Sales & Marketing group by providing information and/or documentation to be used
in for Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Participate in the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs) by developing time and effort
estimates for the development of product customization and installation services.
Assist with, or write, technical components of SOWs or proposals.
Participate in sales conference calls or sales presentations as needed.
Customer Support
Manage the transition of a client's solution over to the Customer Support Team.
Provide Level/Tier II support to the Customer Support Team.
Provide the Customer Support group with client specific information, which may assist them in
creating service contracts and better serve our customers.
Provide the Customer Support group with the solution or product code to assist them in
resolving issues by recreating the problem.
Staff Development
Work with the management to identify and create individual and/or group, learning opportunities.
Lead information sessions on current products and methodologies.
Research new product developments and recommend new programming or technical
considerations.
Keep up to date by reading all technical updates related to our products (Tier 1 and Tier 2, etc.)
and participating in product update meetings or information sessions.
Lead activities, which will transfer knowledge and skills to new, and existing staff members.
Participate in employee reviews by giving constructive feedback for other team members
through the established review process.
Ensure all employees are utilizing the Notes Knowledge Database. Ensure that all productrelated
tips/hints are added to the Knowledge Database.
Train new employees on the Knowledge Database and ensure they add info to the Knowledge
Database when appropriate.
Add tips and hints to the Notes Knowledge Database.
Communication and Reporting
Provide status information to CCOE Management as specified by Director.
Participate in frequent communication of activities and account status to CCOE Management
and local marketplace teams (e.g., MPS, ESS, RDPS)
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Requires knowledge typically gained through the attainment of a four-year degree, and preferably a
masters degree.
Requires 5+ years of IT consulting experience.
Must be self-motivated and driven to excel.
Requires a valid drivers license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage per IKONs policy.
